Honda researching cleaner diesel engine
June 22, 2006
The standard 2006 Honda Civic Sedans get 30/40 mpg and the hybrid Civics get 49/51 mpg. I have the standard Civic sedan. The newest Civic hybrids were not readly available when I purchased my vehicle and diesel has never been an option in a Civic here. In the US, diesel does not have the adoption rate as it does in other areas of the world. There are very few vehicles for sale here, less trucks, that are diesel powered. Is this the manufactures fault? Is it the consumers fault for not demanding it? Honda will revolutionize the diesel engines in small vehicles. They have the ability to produce powerful engines with low emmisions. VTEC-D anyone?
